EasyJet — The Orange Connector of Europe
EasyJet is a British multinational low-cost airline group, proudly headquartered at London Luton Airport. Founded in March 1995 by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the airline has grown into one of Europe’s most recognisable carriers.
Today, easyJet is the second-largest low-cost airline in Europe, carrying more than 59 million passengers annually.
Its bright orange aircraft have become a familiar sight across the continent,
reflecting the airline’s simple and powerful promise:
“To Fly, To Save.”
Network and Reach
Operating from 29 European bases, easyJet connects 134 destinations across more than 30 countries in Europe, North Africa, and West Asia.
Through its affiliate airlines — easyJet UK, easyJet Switzerland, and easyJet Europe — the group operates a dense network of more than 1,000 routes.
The airline’s efficiency-focused model allows travellers to often secure round-trip flights between major European cities — such as London, Paris, Berlin, and Barcelona — for prices that would once have seemed impossible.
The Fleet
As of October 2025, the easyJet fleet consists of over 190 in-service Airbus aircraft, with a strong emphasis on modern, fuel-efficient technology.
The backbone of the fleet includes:
Airbus A319
Airbus A320, including the next-generation A320neo
Airbus A321neo
Additional aircraft are currently on order, ensuring continued growth while reducing fuel burn and environmental impact per passenger.
Hubs and Key Airports
easyJet operates from several major European hubs, including:
London Gatwick and London Luton
Berlin–Brandenburg
Geneva
Milan–Malpensa
Amsterdam
Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly
Lisbon
Fare Options
easyJet offers a range of fare options designed to meet different travel needs, while maintaining its core low-cost philosophy.
Light Fare
The most basic option, including the flight, taxes, and a small cabin bag (personal item)
that must fit under the seat in front of you.
Inclusive Fare
Builds on the Light fare by adding a checked hold bag of up to 23 kg and free standard
seat selection.
Inclusive Plus
The most comprehensive option, including speedy boarding, a large cabin bag, a Free Up
Front or discounted Extra Legroom seat, dedicated easyJet Plus bag drop, Fast Track
Security at participating airports, and an onboard meal deal.
For travellers who prefer to fly light but still want to check their cabin baggage, the Hands-Free add-on allows large carry-on bags to be dropped at bag drop and collected at baggage claim after landing.
Corporate Notes
In a notable corporate development, easyJet confirmed on September 10, 2021, that it had rejected a takeover bid from its low-cost rival, Wizz Air, reaffirming its commitment to independent growth.
In Magelline’s Eyes
easyJet is not about luxury or ceremony. It is about connection.
Orange aircraft stitching together Europe’s cities, islands, and coastlines — allowing people to move freely, affordably, and often spontaneously.
For Magelline, easyJet represents modern European travel at its most democratic: journeys made lighter, distances made shorter, and the sky opened to everyone.
